Goal of the project

Current manufacturing protocols for adoptive T cell therapies, such as CAR-T and TCR-based approaches, are complex, costly, and time-consuming, limiting access for patients in need. In Norway alone, up to one-third of patients who begin the CAR-T process never receive their infusion due to manufacturing delays or rapid disease progression.

To address this, Dr. Lehander (Olweus group) and Dr. Kared (Munthe group) will combine their expertise to explore whether rapid activation of antigen-specific memory T cells can enable faster and more efficient transduction of therapeutic genes, potentially cutting manufacturing timelines significantly.
