The multi-year, UCB-funded collaboration brings together researchers from OUS and UCB to advance antibody engineering. By combining complementary expertice from academia and industry, the partners will explore a novel scientific concept with the aim of improving antibody function while maintaining other critical properties.
The research will be conducted in the laboratory of Jan Terje Andersen (Oslo University Hospital). Andersen is part of the Centre of Excellence Precision Immunotherapy Alliance (PRIMA) at the University of Oslo and Oslo University Hospital. He is also involved in the AI-Facilitated Immune Receptor Engineering (AFIRE) initiative, an Emerging Technologies program at the University of Oslo.
A partnership combining complementary expertise
The project will be jointly led by researchers in Oslo and UCB’s innovative antibody engineering team in Slough, UK. It is built on a unique scientific concept originating within UCB and will leverage the complementary expertise of both teams to explore its full potential.
The collaboration agreement was negotiated by Inven2.
"We are delighted to enter this strategic collaboration with UCB. By combining our expertise in antibody biology and engineering, we have a unique opportunity to explore an exciting scientific concept and advance our understanding of antibody functionality. The partnership brings together highly complementary teams with a shared ambition to translate fundamental insights into innovative solutions that may contribute to the development of better therapeutics", says Professor Jan Terje Andersen.
