AYF is a dynamic, interdisciplinary platform for early-career researchers in Norway. Established in 2015 by the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, it serves as a meeting place and policy voice for young scholars across disciplines and sectors. The Academy promotes innovative research dissemination, fosters scientific debate, and plays an active role in shaping research policy.

This year, AYF received 88 applications through an open and competitive process. Ten new members were selected based on scientific excellence, societal engagement, and a demonstrated commitment to research policy and communication. Members undergo a rigorous selection process involving peer review and interviews, and serve a four-year term.

The Academy currently consists of 41 members from a wide range of institutions and research fields. While open to researchers of all nationalities, AYF operates primarily in Norwegian and convenes at least twice a year in different locations across the country. It also collaborates with a growing network of national and global young academies.

Chloe B. Steen’s admission to AYF reflects her outstanding contributions to research and her dedication to advancing science in society. We congratulate her on this achievement and look forward to seeing her impact as part of the Academy.
